It's not new news that people around the world are getting fatter, but what is a little new is that as a result being overweight and obese is more socially acceptable today than it was years ago. An overweight person no longer sticks out in society -- a thin person is more likely to be noticed as out of the norm. That's sad! And although I would hope people of all shapes and sizes can be accepted for who they are, it seems the more we accept obesity as 'normal' the less we'll fight it. And since obesity = health risks it's something we should be fighting.Note: The contents of this blog are for informational purposes only and should not be construed as medical advice or substitute for professional care. Fat is normal?

1. Yeah...I think it is even worse for the younger generation. Many kids play video games instead of doing activities. Heck...there is even a "fishing" video game (they should actually try these activities, instead of playing them on their TV sets).
There are probably even more fat men than women. I'm almost 40 and I'm in great shape (I have to be since I'm a fitness author)...but I think people believe I'm obsessed, when I eat healthy and exercise 3-4 times a week.
Fortunately, there are some great role models out there...that will hopefully influence people to stay active.
Laird Hamilton (link below to his workout routine along with two amazing surfing videos)

Jessica Biel (link below to her workout routine)

Hopefully people like this will have an influence on the kids these days and show them it is great to get outside and workout!
I am hopefull that things will begin to improve!
